NOW FOR THE DRABBLE THAT I TALKED ABOUT~!

-Elia-
I picked up the fallen picture and placed it back on my desk. A small smiled crept on my face as I remember that happy day. My smiled grew wider for a spit second, but then my eyes welled up, tears threatening to overflow. I took a deep breath and walked out to the balcony of my captain’s office. I watched as officer help each other with repairs to the Seireitei. I felt a familiar presence behind me, but didn’t turn around. She picked up something from my desk and chuckled. The picture.
“I remember this.”
“You should; it was one of the few times you were actually allowed here.” I faced the red haired Arrancar.
“Hey, you know me,” she shrugged, “rules and I don’t necessarily get along.” She put the picture back and crossed her arms, shifting her weight from her left foot to her right. “Which is strange considering I was enforcing the rules back in Hueco Mundo.”
“No shit.” I muttered. I turned back around to face the Seireitei once more. I heard Akuma sigh and walk up behind me.
“Damn Elia,” she brought her hands up and massaged my shoulders. “Swearing. Holy shit sis.” She chuckled, “You’re supposed to be the good one.” We stayed there for a few minutes in a some-what peaceful silence.
“Remember how happy she was?” I said, breaking the silence.
“In the picture?”
I nodded.
“Yeah, I remember.” She chuckled, “She was practically bursting with excitement.”
I laughed, “Her Spiritual Pressure was flaring so much. I thought they wouldn’t let her graduate it she didn’t get it under control.” I looked at my hands. My fingers were tightly wound together. Again. I found myself doing that a lot. It’d become a habit of mine. I remember my beautiful Amaya, glowing on the day of her graduation.

We stood up as the graduating class bagan walking out to their seats. Akuma elbowed me, and I looked at her, my hands alredy getting itchy from clapping. She grinned and pointed in the direction of the oncoming class. I looked over to see Amaya grinning at me. Her brown hair, swaying slightly as she walked, reminded to too much of Aizen. Amaya turned to talk to her friend and I looked down. I noticed my hands were clasped together, my fingers gripping them.
Akuma placed her hand on my own, “Relax.”
I shook off her hand, “I should be over this by now. She’s a good girl. She’s strong. She’s mine.” I said, frowning.
“Elia,” Akuma said, strangely compassionately for her. I looked up and met her gaze. “Aizen hurt you. Through me. Those marks – emotional and physical – will stay there.” She grinned, “So enjoy your daughter’s graduation, grow a pair of balls and man up will ya?”
I laughed, “Smartass.” I looked at my daughter again. She was laughing with a friend, and when she saw me looking at her she beamed. I waved, and Akuma wrapped her arm around my neck, and waved as well.

Suddenly, I felt and annoying need to rant, “Where did I go wrong? If I had done something differently; maybe move something even a little centimeter, would this all be different?” I stared at my hands, “Would I have my daughter with me? What if I never let her see him? What if she never even knew? What if she never went to the academy in the first place?”
“What if I never came here looking for a fight?” Akuma said. She didn’t ask it like a question, more like a statement. I looked up at her to see her frowning. “Your ‘what ifs’ aren’t exactly realistic Elia. I came here looking for some fun. If I hadn’t, that wouldn’t have happened. You did what you thought was right.” She hugged me then. The hug was kind and campassionate, like a human girl legitimately comforting her sister. I squeezed Akuma, and cried my eyes out. I clung to her, my life line, the person who had kept me safe, and sobbed until I fell asleep.
